It can be nerve-wracking…sharing your pricing with a potential client. And setting the "right" price as a Stage 1 Brand Designer can feel like trying to conjure numbers out of thin air.
Maybe you're worried that your prices are too high so potential clients will find someone else instead of working with you. Or worse, maybe your biggest fear is that your prices land you an unaligned project that drags on for months while you get paid pennies.
But what’s more likely to holding you back from putting your creative calling into the world isn't losing a sale or having a project drag on too long?
It's having no momentum. The most important thing for a Stage 1 Brand Designer is to get momentum. Picasso (yes, I know, he did some seriously messed up stuff) once told an up-and-coming photographer that pricing their work properly was less important than getting their work into people’s homes. A photograph tucked away in a studio does as much good as a seed that never falls from the tree. Oppositely, an up-and-coming artist’s work in the home of someone who walks past it every day, whose friends, family, guests, and acquaintances walk by it daily, is worth a lot to the artist. More of this, please. My pricing strategy involves removing as much friction as possible so that you can get your work seen by your next aligned client. The magical part about brand design is that even if you don’t get paid immediately what you’d like to get paid in the future, as people see the incredible projects you do at Stage 1, you will bring in tens of thousands of dollars and more in future client work.
I once worked with a Brand Designer who sold full Brand Design packages for under a thousand dollars. As she did beautiful for these clients, she shared with her audience what she created and was able to continue to increase her prices as her skills, experience, and portfolio expanded. She was able to grow into charging $10k and more for her services. The strategy I’ll teach you takes the same approach.
Without a pricing strategy that’s driven by creating momentum in your Brand Design business, you’re likely setting yourself up for years of stagnation, burnout, and a habit of second-guessing your prices every time you’re having an insecure day (which isn't a fault of yours, but a natural part of being a brilliant Brand Designer like yourself).

"This pricing strategy workbook is amazing! It is so easy to understand and it clearly answers all the questions I had when I just started out. It helped me more than my 2-year apprenticeship and 3-year Bachelor's Degree in communication design because no course really prepared me to be self-employed or to be an entrepreneur. Pricing is such a nerve-wracking topic. This will help so many people who want to start their business journey. It feels like having a business friend who can help you and can answer all your questions. This resource is so valuable and I loved every second of reading it."
"This workbook would have spared me a lot of googling and a lot of webinars, masterclasses and courses!"
"I like the journal prompts that lead people to toward deciding which prices feel best for them and giving examples of what prices can look like."

"I love the workbook! It's like nothing I've ever seen on pricing before. I definitely would've found it helpful last year when I started really digging into my branding work. After reading through the stages you outlined, I realized how easy it was for me to rush through being a Stage 1 Brand Photographer, but I love how you reframed the value of that stage. I wish I had gotten that advice to not rush through it when I was in it. There's a lot of push to charge higher amounts really quickly, but I've found that's not always beneficial to the photographer or client, so that reframe would've been helpful when I was reaching out to potential clients in the beginning."

We're taught what should make us happy before we even ask ourselves. From the number of bedrooms in our future homes to the perfect career to the vacations we should to take. In a world where marketers exploit our rocky self-trust so they can promise us happiness, acceptance, comfort, safety, and stability with their answers, it's no wonder we often question our intuition.
For a Creative Entrepreneur like you who wants to build a business that will support the life you dream of, the question is, how can you make aligned choices now in order to create the life you dream of in the future? (And that's assuming you know the life you dream of.)
I was asking the same question when I felt burnt out, discouraged, and unsure of what my next move would be after trying to follow everyone else's formula. That's when I stumbled upon my Light Story (one of my Sacred Stories, which are the signature building blocks of every experience at EN|SCE. A Sacred Story is a specific memory that acts as single point of inspiration for a certain area in your business.), which has helped me reach my next-level life more than any other mindset practice.
I like to think of my up-leveling process like restoring a fresco. Your Light Story acts as a small, original portion of the painting that’s been discovered. Even though it’s small, because you've found an original, authentic section, you can use it to restore the rest of the fresco, one piece at a time. After going through the Light Story experience, you'll feel that rendering the vision for your life is more like a restoration process than a creation-from-nothing process.
Without a deeply-rooted vision of how your business will uniquely and specifically integrate into the vision for your life, you're likely setting yourself up for years of building something that is not aligned with what you truly desire, which leads to burnout, disappointment, and chasing what life can look like instead of what it can feel like.

Take 14 days to live with what we’ve created. If it doesn’t feel aligned with where you want to take your business, just let us know and we’ll give you a refund, no questions asked.
It was two years ago when I realized that the Heart Story (my radical process for bridging business and creativity) had a sequel: a Light Story. It appeared to me in desperate circumstances.
Just weeks before I would birth my third baby, the world shut down during my refund period which left me with $12k in panicked refunds. We get the occassional refund request, but it had never been like this. As the breadwinner for our family, all I could feel when I looked at my bank account was deep shame about my inability to care for us financially the way I had always meant to.
After taking just 3 weeks of maternity leave, I had a newborn I nursed between (and during) coaching calls. I’d look at my other young children and make promises of “Soon. Soon, I’ll be able to give to you the life you deserve.”
It’s painful now to remember how that felt. Looking back, I wish I would’ve asked for more help. I wish I would’ve realized that the load I was trying to carry was too heavy. Instead of constantly feeling like I had failed, I wish I would’ve understood all of the good I had done and that what I had done was enough and what had happened in the wake of the pandemic was traumatic and not my fault.
But alas, that’s not how it felt in the moment. What did happen was that I decided to hire an expensive mindset coach in hopes of creating a better outcome.
Slowly, ever so slowly, I started to heal the pain and the poison and the shame. But one thing continued to be elusive and at the top of my mind constantly:
How would I reach my goals? I had dreams of more ease, presence, travel, culture. I wanted to bring beautiful things into my life. But everything I’d learned about manifesting and changing my mindset felt…strange. Most manifesting guides I’d read were really clear that one had to be completely specific about one wanted or one wouldn’t be offered it.
"My Sacred Stories help me realize that I can trust myself."
"I feel like each week I'm slowly turning my business from the big fiery monster that I thought my business should look like into a beautiful lush island which is true to me and how I want to do things."
"That was the first time I connected with the divine feminine in practice rather than just theory."
"I just finished the Light Story training and I have gotten so much out of this past week that I can't even believe it. I immediately felt like there were two shapes for how my work feels in my body. The first one was surrounding me in a protective, warm, glowy cloud. The other one was so jubilant that it expanded out and was filling the night sky and into the atmosphere and into space and I didn't even realize I was doing that as I was writing it out and then I realized, "oh my God this is exactly what we were talking about at the Coaching Table!" I realized how I have been diminishing myself and hiding, and afraid to be seen. I feel like Jean Gray when she's becoming the phoenix and she lets the power out that she's always had but has been trying to contain. I need to let it out. I wanted to share that because it felt BIG, and you are the only people that will understand."
So dutifully, I filled my mood boards with expensive interiors, expensive real estate locations, and expensive homeware. But it didn’t work. I’d get bored of wanting those things. I really love interiors and beautiful architecture, but the things were never really what it was about. They didn’t really mean anything.
Instead, most of the things I wanted were feelings and experiences that could shape shift from a swim in a Swiss lake to a dinner around a farm table in a small house to a boat ride through a magically-lit grotto.
So I wondered if there was something akin to a Heart Story that would help me. Some experience I’d already had that could cut through the noise of what other people were trying to teach me that I didn’t understand. One day it appeared to me, full formed. A memory that would serve as a touchstone to help me integrate all of the disparate parts of my life. A tool that clarified, in no uncertain terms, my power and potential (including a powerful experience with the Devine Feminine).
It was after those days of discovery that I spent my working days walking in the hills and running back to my computer to transcribe everything I had learned. Instead of feeling dried out, I felt bursting with energy, life, ideas, and love. I started to live into those magical swims, the friendships and coaching program that would facilitate life-giving conversations and projects, the confidence that I knew what I wanted and I knew what I needed to do to get there.
My life has been marked by situations where I looked to everything but myself. My Sacred Stories help me realize that I can trust myself.
The unfolding of all of the dreams of my life is still a work in progress and I’m more than okay with that. In fact, months ago I realized that the work I dream of doing is so large that I couldn’t possibly finish it in my lifetime. That actually brings me comfort, realizing that there is so much to do and I will never finish it. I can relax and enjoy the journey instead of waiting until my work is finished.

We're taught what we should want before we even ask ourselves. From the people we should feel attraction for to the clothes we should long for to the body we should have. In a world where marketers exploit our rocky self-trust so they can promise us acceptance, happiness, comfort, safety, and stability with their answers, it's no wonder we often question our intuition.
For a Creative Entrepreneur like you who wants to sell with authenticity and grace, the question is, how can you create desire for your work without exploiting people's pain, trauma, insecurity, and fears?
I had the same question when I was working on a new sales funnel for one of my programs. I was putting together a pretty straight-forward sales structure with a webinar and emails, but something about it felt off. (As every business strategy always feels for me.) That's when I opened up my notebook at the top of a beautiful hike and asked the questions that led to finding my Frame Story (One of my Sacred Stories, which are the signature building blocks of every experience at EN|SCE. A Sacred Story is a specific memory that acts as single point of inspiration for a certain area your business.), which has had the most profound affect on helping me unlock the doors to authentic, non-forceful desire being able to emanate from my work.
The deep truth I learned from working with my Frame Story, is that non-exploitative, non-forceful desire is a gift that begins within yourself, like the scent of a rose wafting up from within. Desire is fun, exciting, beautiful, and sexy. I learned that most marketers operate from a very masculine idea of creating desire: obvious, pointed, specific, forceful, straight-forward, explicit, and linear. Yet for many creatives (including myself) it doesn't feel right to only sell from this perspective. And for many artists, it doesn't work at all. My Frame Story taught me a more feminine idea of creating desire: subtle, soft, warm, implicit, circular, nuanced, layered, and metaphorical. And that was just the beginning.
Without a clear understanding of how you can authentically and uniquely create desire for your work, you'll likely have to settle for creating desire based only on the fears, insecurities, and pains of your clients and customers, which is exactly what makes marketing and selling your work feel gross in the first place.

We're taught how we need to act in order to be accepted without asking ourselves how we want to show up in the world. From how we should speak to what we should be interested in to what we should wear. In a world where marketers exploit our rocky self-trust so they can promise us acceptance, happiness, comfort, safety, and stability with their answers, it's no wonder we often question our intuition.
For a Creative Entrepreneur like you who wants to attract aligned (and repeat) customers and clients from traffic platforms and invite them into a community, the question is, how can you create a sense of belonging and true community where people want to return to again and again?
I had the same question when I kept thinking about traffic. I had read so many books and trainings about traffic strategies, and I couldn't figure out what Sacred Story would match. Then my Home Story fell into my head as I sat and read one of my favorite fantasy novels. My Home Story didn't just become the inspiration for my community, but helped me find profound alignment in building a business model that I could happily scale.
The deep truth I learned from working with my Home Story, is that to help create a community where people feel like they belong, I need to show up in a place of belonging to myself. Plus, once I opened the door to my Home Story inspiration, the idea for my beautiful EN School of Creative Entrepreneurship presented herself as though she had always been waiting in the wings.
Without a clear understanding of how you can authentically and uniquely create belonging for your community, you'll likely have to settle for creating community based only on how other people have done things, or based on exploiting people's attention, trust, fear, and pain, which is exactly what makes traffic strategies feel gross in the first place.

As you can probably tell, everything in each of the Sacred Story Experiences is brewed from working through my own angst and struggles as well as coaching conversations I've had with creative entrepreneurs over the years. Leading your business with your heart can feel really lonely once you realize that there is literally no one out there who has all of the answers. That is, until you realize that there is someone inside who does have all of the answers. You.
Between trying to take care of all of the customers and clients in your business, taking care of the loved ones in your life, and somehow making self and communal-care a priority, you have enough pressure on you to "get it all right." Let yourself be supported by going through these Sacred Stories.
After going through the Light Story experience, creative entrepreneurs feel a powerful, unique-to-them, deeply-rooted, aligned vision of their next-level self, as well as feeling deeply supported by the Divine in achieving that vision.
After going through the Frame Story experience, creative entrepreneurs feel a sense of peace, alignment, confidence, and clarity with the way they want to market and sell their work.
After going through the Home Story experience, creative entrepreneurs feel a sense of peace and alignment with the way they want to bring traffic into their world.
In the hours it takes to go through these experiences (about. 2 hours each), you can instantly up-level your mindset, align your marketing strategy and peacefully take the unique next steps you need to take in order to move toward your vision.

It's thinking that your images need to be perfect before you can show people what you're creating. I want to introduce you to a mantra that has been extremely freeing for me: "I am prolific. Not perfect." I know brilliant creatives who really want to share their work, and yet they waited months or years because they were too afraid of beginning to share the "wrong" or "not good enough" images of their work. But you have to be bad at something before you can be good at it. My presets help take the edge off. You may not have it all figured out, but if you want to have an aesthetic in the realm of Light Academia, these presets will give you a leg up on looking that much more professional, cohesive, and intentional right away.
I've worked with plenty of creatives over the years as an art director and know that once you can get your imagery cohesive, elevated, and aligned, you can communicate so much of the intangibles that can never be explained with words.
Without elevated and cohesive imagery, you might settle into the background, feel less confident when talking to your clients and customers about your prices, and second-guess the value of your work every time you look at your images (which isn't a fault of yours, but a natural part of being a brilliant Creative Entrepreneur like yourself).
But what’s more likely to hold you back from attracting clients than not having perfectly edited images?
You can feel terribly exposed…sharing images for your business with your audience, whether on your website or social media. And editing them to communicate that people should take your business seriously is no small thing.
Maybe the vision you had in your head does not match the image staring at you from your screen...maybe what you're looking at is something woefully amateur. Or no matter how much you've learned to adjust the color and exposure, each image looks like it belongs to a different business. They're not telling one cohesive brand story.
You see, in the kerfuffle of "everyone" now being a photographer, most people don't understand that finding your editing style is a journey that photographers spend thousands of hours, pieces of their soul, and years of their life in editing software to figure out. And it's one of the key parts to creating elevated, cohesive imagery.

What if you could have sales emails that are connection driven first and still support you in surpassing your sales goals?
Email marketing sounds like a clever-enough strategy, but actually getting up the courage to send a full email sales sequence...? That can feel absolutely terrifying.
What if people are so mad that you sent them an email asking them to buy? What if they unsubscribe? Or what if you just do it all wrong and no one buys? It can truly feel like too much possible rejection to handle.
You may or may not know this about me, but it would be difficult to find a person alive who has more obsessively written and rewritten all of their sales copy more than I have. Especially sales emails. I had it in my mind for so many years that if I could just nail the email copy, I would finally reach the sales revenue I dreamed of. I believed the lie that there was a right way to write email copy, and I just could never get there. Looking back, I realize that no matter which iteration of sales emails I was using, I was always able to make sales at a seriously good conversion rate (although my perfectionist, trauma-addled brain often disagreed, so it was confusing!). What I learned from thousands of hours of rewriting, is that there are so many right ways you can write emails. My goal with Bewitching Invitations is to usher you out of email-writing paralysis, and make it easy for you to complete a full sales sequence.
While we feel totally confident in how our products can serve you, we understand that sometimes something just isn’t what you need. That’s why we offer our 14-day Alignment Refund Policy. Did you know I fell in love with my husband by writing letters? No, really. For three and a half years, we didn’t see each other or talk on the phone. We just wrote letters. Every week, I’d hope to hear from him again. What he was thinking about, his responses to my responses to him. Nothing was sappy. We were mostly making references to our favorite fantasy novels and finding gossip to share about our mutual friends. But when we finally hung out, I felt like we had been friends all our lives.
I think email marketing can be more like this. I mean it should be more like this, shouldn’t it? Letter writing was how people used to communicate, build relationships, make decisions?
I think sales emails in email marketing could feel more like this.
I wrote you a template to show you how.
So the point of this template is that sure, you can use it as a fill-in-the-blank. It’ll work to just get you started! If that’s where you’re at, do it. If you trust me and my voice and my values and where I’m coming from, it’ll help you at least have something up that I don’t think will make you feel embarrassed. It’s written from the heart. It’s written with the intent to serve first and hold space for people to purchase stuff from you second. (And yes, people buy. The perfect people for you. And they keep coming back.)
But, there is no right answer. What I hope is that this will help you see patterns that you’d like to use, imitate, or leave. I want you to find your own ways to implement what I've taught you. I want you to try things that make you feel excited, happy, and like you’re truly sharing what you want to share. I’m giving you tons of examples of what I’m doing and why, and how you can take that and do something for yourself. Basically, tons of support to help you steal like an artist. Will I be able to answer every single possible situation you have in your business? Of course not. No product will give you that. But we do offer 1-1 and group support in our coaching program if you'd like that kind of support.
Plus, I’ll teach you my favorite way on Flodesk (which you can apply to other email softwares, but Flodesk is my favorite) to set up your email funnel, as well as ways to allow the design on Flodesk to help you speak your truth even more powerfully.
Your work deserves a moment in the spotlight. A time where people get to actually understand it, how it can help them, and then make their choice.
Bewitching Invitations can help you.

But what’s more likely to hold you back from building your business than sucking at everything in public?
It's easy to feel like everything in your business is teetering on the edge of failure. Even just existing as a creative entrepreneur can feel like an almost-fail, not to mention creating and sharing your heart. With your bank account ever-looming and getting rejected more than you make a sale, it can be hard on the soul.
Maybe you watch the businesses of the people you follow and you think, "I could do that." And you're right. You can do that (or something like it). But then you get into doing all of the things (website, social media, creating the products, creating the services, writing mountains of copy, getting your legal and financial stuff in order, doing email marketing, hiring new team members, to name a few) and all of the sudden, the few things you saw that seemed totally doable when you had the vision feels impossible because now you see a bigger picture of everything that needs to be done. You realize that if you really want to perform at the standard that's in your mind, you may never get there. Even if you dedicate every minute of your life to it.
You see, in the kerfuffle of all of the business and marketing experts telling you how possible it is to build your business, most people don't understand how often you have to suck - in public! - in order to get traction. What do I mean by sucking in public? I mean releasing products that don't sell the first time around. Sharing a special story with your audience and no one responding. Not having the perfectly beautiful graphics you know you could have if you could just spend a hundred hours learning Photoshop and really great design skills first. Doing your best to put together professional photos only for them to make you look like a total amateur. Filming yourself talking about your products with an ugly background instead of the elevated set you imagined. I assure you I feel each of these so deeply.
While we feel totally confident in how our products can serve you, we understand that sometimes something just isn’t what you need. That’s why we offer our 14-day Alignment Refund Policy. Take 14 days to live with what we’ve created. If it doesn’t feel aligned with where you want to take your business, just let us know and we’ll give you a refund, no questions asked.
It's not letting yourself suck in public. I wrote this lecture in the first month of Winter Term 2022. It was my second term ever, I was working on rewriting a course, and I had added three brand new team members to my team. This team part. Oof. It was a doozy. And not because of the people. They were the most aligned team members I had ever hired and they were brilliant and aligned with my vision. No, the problem was me. I felt bad asking them to do anything. I was terrified that I would say something wrong and they would abandon me. When I explained it to my friend I told her that I felt like typing a question in Slack to a team member felt like lifting a metaphorical hundred pounds. I would literally lie prone for thirty minutes after, letting myself process everything. I couldn't start working on the things I needed to write until midnight when I knew there would be no Slack notifications.
And then I had to write a lecture that I would give the next day, and it was 2 am.
Instead of writing the lecture, I made a couple of notes and then went to bed. I woke up early the next morning for coaching calls, knowing that I had just one hour after one of the calls to write my lecture. I didn't know what else to talk about except for that I was, at that moment, showing up, sucking in public. I didn't revise. I didn't edit. I didn't even proofread. I didn't even have time to write a title. But I hoped that I could demonstrate to them that it's not just okay to suck in public, it's necessary for the journey.
I was nervous to share my thoughts. What if they were angry and wanted refunds? Instead, I was delighted by the incredible discussion we had. We spent time writing in our journals about ways we could show up without trying to be perfect. By me showing up, with what felt to me like sucking, it gave everyone else permission to not be perfect either. Apparently, all of us that were present were feeling like everything we did had to be perfect or else we'd failed.
After that lecture, students told me they felt so much pressure released and started doing things imperfectly.
I've worked with plenty of business owners over the years and know that once you can allow yourself to be imperfect, you can spread your gifts with way fewer obstacles.
Without an ability to let go of perfectionism, you often take years to finish things that never needed to be perfect, or you never finish them at all (which is totally understandable. Business is a tall order. But maybe we could mitigate some of this.).
